Steven Jackson is an award-winning producer, sound designer, composer, and filmmaker.

He has produced and reported stories for This American Life, BBC’s Short Cuts, Love + Radio, 99% Invisible, WBEZ, Audible, and others. He has sound designed and scored high-profile limited series such as The Trojan Horse Affair, Cryptoland, and You Didn’t See Nothin (Pulitzer Prize, Peabody, & Third Coast Award Winner). He composes music for podcasts, film, video games, and other media, and is a founding member of the scoring co-op Cue Shop. He lives in Portland, Maine, where he co-founded the Portland Audio Hub, sometimes teaches at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, and very frequently jumps into the ocean.

His current project/obsession is a short documentary film about paruresis (shy bladder syndrome) and its discontents.
